Reading for Me

Support children to become independent readers.

Give students the best opportunities to succeed!

Reading for Me is a child-centred six-workbook series that provides engaging daily reading activities designed to:

  • foster a love of reading in children

  • encourage children to take ownership of their reading

  • develop and progress reading skills

  • develop intrinsic motivation (i.e. children want to read on their own accord)

  • involve parents in their children’s reading journey

  • make reading accessible by providing easy texts that increase in difficulty.

Why choose Reading for Me?

  • It is written in line with the National Literacy Progressions, so teachers and parents can be assured that children’s reading skills are developed as they progress through the series.

  • It is extremely quick and easy for teachers to implement in their classroom or to assign as homework.

  • Questions consolidate reading and comprehension and allow teachers to check that children actually read and comprehend the texts.

  • Part A includes access to Part B (additional 60 text), an online portal built to encourage fantastic collaboration between students by giving teachers the ability to project the stories and questions onto a screen for all to see.

MIX TRADITIONAL AND DIGITAL TEACHING METHODS

In Reading for Me, each year level has two workbooks containing 15 weeks of texts each (4 texts per week). Part A is a physical workbook and Part B will be online. Creating more opportunity to learn in a digital space!

SO MANY INTERESTING TEXTS TO READ

In the Reading for Me workbook series, children are encouraged to read one text each day at home (Monday to Thursday). This equates to 120 texts per year level, with a number of different text types are included to provide variety and interest.

What do teachers think about Reading for Me?

Reading For Me is such an incredible resource to help support student learning at home. Not only are students developing their reading skills, they are gaining a deeper understanding of texts through the six question that accompany each text. A must have for those that want to provide extra support to their children’s learning.
